![]() The Yukon Trail was a 33 mile long trail that was originally inhabited by the Tlingit people. They used the land to hunt and fish (generally they lived off the land). The Yukon area was then set into a frenzy called the Klondike Gold Rush in 1896. That was when thousands of inexperienced prospectors came to the Yukon looking for gold and to become rich. The Yukon had very frigid climate and temperatures would drop to below freezing.
